IFPAS Pre-Launches IFPASVoice to Strengthen Industry Conversations and Public Engagement
The Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS) held the pre-launch of IFPASVoice on 14 May 2026, bringing together industry stakeholders, educational institutions, associations, and organisations from across Singapore’s financial services ecosystem and the wider community.
Built around conversations, collaboration, and public engagement, IFPASVoice was introduced as a platform aimed at fostering stronger industry relationships, more meaningful dialogue, and deeper understanding across the wider ecosystem.
The session brought together leaders and representatives from various sectors connected to the financial advisory profession and beyond, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of financial planning, insurance, estate planning, education, business, and community engagement today.
A Platform Built Around Conversations and Collaboration
In his opening address, Derrick Yip, President, IFPAS Executive Council 2026/2027, shared that the idea behind IFPASVoice came from a simple belief that meaningful voices and conversations should extend beyond associations and industry circles to create wider positive impact.

“Ultimately, through IFPASVoice, we hope to foster stronger relationships, greater unity, and deeper collaboration across the ecosystem. This is not only about the financial industry, but about how different stakeholders, leaders, partners, and communities can come together to support and uplift one another as we move forward together.”
Derrick also introduced the “3Es” framework behind IFPASVoice — Elevate, Engage, and Experience — which aims to elevate meaningful conversations, encourage authentic engagement, and create more human-centred experiences in an increasingly AI-driven world.
“In today’s increasingly AI-driven world, we felt it was important to create experiences that still feel real and human,” he said.
Contributing Meaningfully Beyond the Industry
Matthew Chew, Vice President 1, IFPAS Executive Council 2026/2027, shared how the initiative evolved from broader reflections on the role associations can play in contributing meaningfully to the industry and community beyond traditional events and announcements.

He said: “At the end of the day, our role is not only to serve practitioners, but also to contribute meaningfully to the broader ecosystem in Singapore, to help elevate conversations, relationships, and collaborations within the industries and communities we touch.”
Matthew also spoke about the growing influence of long-form conversations, podcasts, and authentic discussions in building deeper trust and engagement today.
He further shared that the intention behind IFPASVoice is not simply to create publicity or social media content, but to build a platform for more genuine conversations around financial planning, professionalism, leadership, business, and community issues.
“IFPASVoice is intended to become a refreshed direction for our engagement and social media efforts, not just focusing on publicity or announcements, but creating genuine conversations around financial planning, professionalism, leadership, and the industries and communities we interact with every day,” he said.
Matthew added that the current phase is intentionally positioned as a “pre-launch” because the focus now is on building meaningful content, authentic discussions, and collaborative relationships before the official launch of the platform.
In his closing remarks, Derrick reiterated that the initiative is ultimately about collaboration, shared understanding, and creating more meaningful connections across organisations and communities.

“This initiative is not simply about raising the profile of IFPAS. More importantly, I see this as an opportunity for all of us to collaborate and uplift one another together,” said Derrick.
He also highlighted the importance of continuous learning and cross-industry collaboration within the profession.
“Continuous learning is not just about attending courses within our own organisations, but also learning from one another across associations and industries.”
Looking Ahead for IFPASVoice
The session also touched on broader themes such as professionalism, trust, ethics, competency, and public understanding of the advisory profession, areas that continue to shape conversations within the financial services industry today.
While still in its early stages, IFPASVoice signals a broader effort to create more authentic, human-centred conversations within the ecosystem, while strengthening collaboration between industry bodies, practitioners, organisations, and the communities they serve.
As shared during the session, upcoming efforts are expected to include podcast-style conversations and collaborations involving professionals, leaders, associations, partners, and stakeholders across different sectors.
For many attendees, the pre-launch served not only as the introduction of a new initiative, but also as a reflection of the growing importance of meaningful conversations, trust, and collaboration in shaping the future of the profession and the wider community of stakeholders.
