Singapore Insurance Institute elects council for 2023/24 term

The Singapore Insurance Institute, a members’ institution for Professionals in Insurance and Financial Services, has announced the newly elected council for the 2023-2024 term.

SII’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 31 July 2023, with members convening to discuss key developments. During the AGM, the association also conducted elections to form the new council, a critical component in steering the organisation’s direction over the next term.

The new council for the 2023-2024 term comprises the following members.

President: Sunny Verma
Vice President: Lee Pit Wen
Immediate Past President: Jeslyn Tan
Treasurer: Wina Marita
Council Members: Benjamin Ang, Jeanette Lim, Suang Wijaya, Summer Montague, Tay Si Wei

Immediate Past President Jeslyn Tan, who has served as President the maximum of three consecutive years allowed under the constitution, said: “It has been a privilege to serve as SII President. Over the past year, we have organised over 14 learning and development events and have organised and been involved in over 11 industry exchanges and collaborations.

“I would like to thank my council members and corporate partners who have been instrumental in my journey over the past three years as we continued to enhance the status of the insurance and financial practitioners and further their interests, welfare and professional development,” she added.

Newly elected SII President Sunny Verma said: “I would like to thank Jeslyn and past SII Presidents for their dedication in serving the Institute and the financial services industry. The newly appointed council members possess a diverse range of skills and experience. With their invaluable insights and commitment, I am confident in our collective ability to serve the interests of our members and facilitate interactions through social, cultural, sporting and educational activities within the local community, as well as exchanges with fellow international professional bodies.”

The Singapore Insurance Institute is a members’ institution for Professionals in Insurance and Financial Services with the mission to promote Professionalism in Insurance and Financial Services.
