
18th Asia-Pacific Life Insurance Congress 2022 is happening in Singapore on 24-26 May
The 18th Asia-Pacific Life Insurance Congress (APLIC), with the theme “Opportunities in a changing world”, will be held in Singapore from 24 to 26 May 2022, with Dr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Ministry of Manpower, as the Guest-of-Honour.
APLIC is organised to promote the professionalism of financial services advisory in the region. This biennial event brings together a community of financial consultants, executives, policymakers, academics and business leaders who share a common passion for the financial services profession.
Through formal and practical education programmes, APLIC raises the standard of professionalism and business practices of financial advisers and managers in the Asia Pacific.
With a pressing need for the industry to be nimble and adapt to the rapidly and ever-changing environment, this year’s Congress will feature 15 distinguished speakers.

Dr. Adrian Ang, Senior Manager at the Integrative Built Environment Centre at Temasek Polytechnic (TP), a LEED Accredited Professional (US) and founding member of the Certified Project Manager Programme by Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
Vincent Chan, Deputy Chief Investment Officer and Head of Multi-Asset at Fullerton Fund Management.
Leong Sow Hoe, a 36-year industry veteran who has led the charge as chairman of the IFPAS Alliance STAR Team since 2012, to engage with the authorities, as well as raised the professional profile of practitioners in putting clients and community ahead of themselves.
Sunny Yap, the first Singaporean to be conferred the highest recognition of both Imperial Crown and Laurel Crown award in TOP 500 Chinese Insurance Agency (CIA 500) in 2016, and subsequently in 2018, 2019 and 2020, 2021, at the World Chinese Insurance Congress; and the first and only Singapore team in history to achieve “100 IDA Team” in 2018.
Colin Ong, with more than 29 years of experience in the financial service industry and an Independent Director of City Developments Limited, serving as the Nominating Committee Chairman & a member in the Renumeration Committee.
Benjamin Loh, Asia’s youngest Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), an accolade for the top 12% of speakers globally, who has taught over 55,000 audiences across 10 countries in Asia and the Middle East.
Matthew Chew, who leads a team of nearly 100 associates. Since 2017, his team has consistently produced 116 International Dragon Awards (IDA), 83 qualified Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Associates, and 58 Asia Pacific Financial Services Awards (APFinSA).
Some 900 delegates will attend the Congress in Singapore, which will also be streamed “live” to over 1,000 delegates, partners and Presidents of APFinSA member associations.Â
This year’s Congress is organised by APLIC, the Asia Pacific Financial Services Association (APFinSA), and the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS), and supported by the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau, the Singapore Tourism Board, Changi Airport Group and Sentosa.
The 3rd APFinSA Awards will be held on 23 May in conjunction with the Congress. Awarded by APFinSA, the largest financial services council in Asia Pacific, the prestigious awards recognise the top financial professionals in the Asia Pacific region.
